Regina Esterman, Ph.D.

Owner/Manager

After earning an A.S. degree in Horse Science from The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute in 2000, and a B.S. degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University, Regina came to Gainesville, Florida to pursue graduate work in Animal Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed a M.S. degree in Reproductive Physiology in 2006 and a Ph.D. degree in the Animal Molecular and Cellular Biology Program in 2010.

Regina began showing horses in 4-H and Pony Club in Ohio, taking entries to the Ohio State Fair twice. At Colorado State she was a member of the polo team and interned at Royal Vista Equine reproductive center. Upon coming to Florida, Regina embarked on her first farm venture, operating Shady Grove Farm, a small boarding and training facility. Eclipse Sporthorses LLC was created to encompass the existing boarding and training services, offer greater leasing opportunities, and better promote the expanding sporthorse breeding program.  Haile Equestrian has allowed Regina and Eclipse Sporthorses LLC to expand to a second facility and serve a greater number of Gainesville clients.

Croix Darwin

Instructor

Croix is online enrolled with the University of North Florida pursuing a Bachelors in Business. She plans to transfer to the University of Florida to attain her MBA. She has worked with horses from a very young age and she never stopped loving them. Croix is a classically trained equitation and hunt seat instructor with a strong focus on physical strength and horsemanship on the ground and in the saddle. She has her heart in competing on all levels. Her favorite place to be with a horse is in the show ring or a open field. Croix has competed through high levels of jumper, equitation, eventing, dressage, and hunter rings. Her accolades include being awarded Reserve Champion in the 3'3" jumpers out of 40 riders during a week at Horse Shows in the Sun, a highly acclaimed hunt seat show series. She was also selected to join the Emerging Athletes Program presented by USHJA, and was selected as the only applicant to receive a large grant and scholarship to ride with a world recognized instructor. Her goals are to continue her learning as a rider and represent her state and eventually her country on the back of a horse. She loves to teach riders of all levels with competition goals, and those who want to just enjoy the animal.
